How did we start?
OUR STORY
The story of Red Raven begins in 2019 in Sounio, when two friends lose their expensive sunglasses while canoeing at sea. Somewhere there, a very simple question was born: why should a truly good pair of glasses cost so much?
What started as a question soon became something we truly wanted to bring to life. To create glasses with character, quality and design that we would want to wear ourselves, without excess in the price.
It wasn't easy. We spoke with many manufacturers and heard quite a few “no”s. For many, the idea seemed overly ambitious. But we kept looking until we found the right people to make it real.
That's how Red Raven was born.
From a moment at sea, a simple question, and the persistence to make the glasses we believed should exist.

Our goal was clear from the start: to create glasses you will really want to wear, with design and quality that don't need to come with excess in the price.

From the design and proportions of a frame, to the choice of materials, lenses and final construction, every detail matters.
We work closely with our production partners at every stage, so the design we have in mind is rendered as it should be, and quality is never just a promise.
Our philosophy remains simple: from manufacturing straight to the end consumer.
Our lenses
The CR-39 lenses we use in Red Raven sunglasses offer UV400 protection, high optical clarity and durability for everyday wear.
CR-39 stands out for its high Abbe Value, which helps reduce chromatic aberration and delivers a clearer, more natural vision.
Depending on the model, our lenses also feature Polarized and Anti-Reflective properties, for better visual comfort and fewer unwanted reflections.
Our frames
At Red Raven, we choose different materials depending on the design, fit and character of each frame.
One of the core materials we use is Acetate. Unlike conventional plastic, it is a plant-based material, produced from cotton and pine wood.
We choose it for its durability, flexibility and natural feel, and for the possibilities it gives us in the design, colors and details of every frame.
We also use injection and metal constructions, choosing each time the material that best fits the design and use of each model.
HIGH QUALITY JOINT SCREWS
We use 5-barrel or 7-barrel screws in the hinges of our frames, for greater stability and durability over time.
Their construction lets the temples move smoothly and sit more naturally on the face, contributing to greater comfort in everyday wear.
